TextGrab Privacy Policy

TextGrab ("the App") values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.

1. Information We Collect

TextGrab does not directly collect any personal information.

• Image Data: Images captured by the camera or selected from the gallery are used solely for text recognition (OCR) and are processed entirely on your device. Images are never transmitted to external servers.
• Recognition Results: Text recognition results are stored only in the local database on your device and are not transmitted externally.
• Settings: App settings such as language preferences are stored only on your device.

2. Permissions

The App uses the following permissions:

• Camera (CAMERA): Used to capture images for text recognition.
• Internet (INTERNET): Used for displaying ads and processing in-app purchases. Text recognition does not require an internet connection.
• Storage (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Used to save text files on devices running Android 9 or below.

3. On-Device Processing

TextGrab uses Google ML Kit Text Recognition to process all text recognition entirely on your device. Images captured or selected and their recognition results are never transmitted to external servers.

4. Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services:

• Google ML Kit: Used for on-device text recognition. Please refer to the Google Privacy Policy for more information.
• Google AdMob: Used for displaying advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve ads. Please refer to the Google Privacy Policy for more information.
• Google Play Billing: Used for processing in-app purchases. Payment information is handled by Google Play, and the App does not directly collect any payment information.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

• Recognition history is stored locally on your device, up to 20 entries (unlimited for Premium users).
• All local data is deleted when the App is uninstalled.
• You can manually delete history from the Settings screen.

6. Children's Privacy

TextGrab is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated due to changes in laws or services. Any changes will be communicated through in-app notifications.
